D/OTE Competences

Technology in D/OTE

...
Description

Technological competences may not always part of the previous training and experience of theological educators and institutions, but they are essential as we move in to D/OTE delivery. For example, how do we use online learning platforms both in the design and delivery of our courses?  Or how about media?  What is their place and how do they enhance learning?  And what about the abundance of online resources that are already on the internet?  How can we leverage this wealth of information and tools?   Or, finally, do we understand the possibilities and limitations of the different devices students use and do we design our educational provision with this in mind?

This is a Foundations in  D/OTEC course which introduces basic technological competences in distance and online theological education as defined by the Distance and Online Theological Education Competence framework (see D/OTEC,  category F).
