PHILOSOPHY AND THEOLOGY OF EDUCATION

Theological Method and Education

  • ...
    Description

As theologians we believe in having theological foundations for all we believe and do, and this includes our profession as theological educators.  How many times have we invoked the need for a theology of education as we consider new practices, assess our current purposes or try to evaluate the future?  We are convinced that it is not enough to respond to trends and change, to be educationally savvy, to be skilled in strategic planning or to be trained in sustainability.  We also want to be theologically grounded in theological education.

The questions is: how do we do this? What methods do we use? How do we engage theologically with education, and in particular with theological education? This course initiates a conversation around these questions.
