    The time has come for your institution to consider formal accreditation by a quality assurance agency.

    But you have never done this before and you are uncertain and confused about what accreditation is.  It may also not be clear to you what accreditation is for and you and your faculty might have some reservations and concerns.  And surely you would like to know who is involved in an accreditation process, how you need to prepare and what the overall process will look like.

    All these questions and more are dealt with through a series of video conversations between two experts accreditation, that will hopefully ease your concerns and help prepare you for accreditation.  

    Course Outcomes

    This is course introduces issues, processes and standards relative to the accreditation of theological education. The course is particularly suitable for schools that are considering gaining accreditation, but it is also a useful introduction for junior visitation evaluation teams or anyone who is new to accreditation.

    Authorship

    This course is co-authored by Dr Cheesman and Dr Marvin Oxenham for the European Council for Theological Education. 

    Graham has been involved in theological education for many years, always as a teacher, also as the principal of two theological colleges, the director of  a centre for the study of theological education , an accreditor and consultant in a number of countries and has been an examiner for a number of UK universities. After he left college he became a baptist minster and then a missionary lecturer in Nigeria before returning to the UK. His doctorate is in the bible college movement in the UK. 

    Marvin is the ICETE Academy Director, General Secretary of the ECTE and Programme Leader for the MA in Theological Education programme at the London School of Theology. He lives in Rome, Italy.  His fields of expertise are in educational philosophy, character education, accreditation and online education.
