Description

This is one of the seven, advanced level nano-courses in the D/OTEC series. It builds on the foundational Learning Design in Distance and Online Theological Education course focusing on technology-related competencies for educators as defined by the Distance and Online Theological Education Competence framework (category C).
Course Outcomes

The specific competences developed in this course are:

  1. Can evaluate advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of media
  2. Can make use of open educational resources and existing media in learning design

  • How multimedia, information processing theory and modality principles can shape your course design
  • How to select the right multimedia for your course
  • Describe and apply best practices for using multimedia
  • Evaluate your own use of multimedia in teaching
