Theological Education: Start Here

This  is a course for those who have never systematically studied theological education as a discipline per se and wish to gain a 'bird's eye view' of the field. The course covers the nature and purpose of theological education, the present situation and an overview of the topics covered in the discipline.  This course is particularly suited as a first course for all new ICETE Academy Fellows.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through an action plan and a self-grading quiz.

The Sacred/Secular Divide - C18

This course draws on the 2018 ICETE Consultation (C18) held in Panama and deals with a number of issues related to the sacred/secular divide and theological education.  The course is suitable for those who attended the conference and wish to obtain certification for their learning. This is a 10 hour, event-related course  that will be assessed through a reflective essay and a self-grading quiz.

Cultivating Identity and Practice

This is a course that will inform and inspire theological educators to serve God in their calling with real understanding, commitment, skill and joy.  The course is suited for everyone that works in theological education and is looking for renewed inspiration and sense of calling.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through a project and a self-grading quiz.

A Theology of Theological Education

This is a course that lays some foundational theological reflections around the nature and purpose of theological education.  The course is suitable for all theological educators that are looking both for a method to think theologically about theological education and for some solid starting points to address the basic questions.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through a project and a self-grading quiz.
