Human Participants Research Ethics

This course provides the basic tools to prepare and evaluate research ethics applications.   This course is suited for both students conducting research involving human participation and research ethics committees.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through responses to case studies and a written reflection.

Reviewing Research Ethics Applications

This nanocourse is designed for faculty members of seminaries/educational institutions and staff members of organisations who review human participant research ethics applications.   This is a 2 hour, self-paced online nanocourse that requires the reading of an article, participation in a discussion forum and completion of a self-grading quiz.

Preparing a Research Ethics Application

This nanocourse details what is commonly required in an ethics application and helps theology students prepare research ethics applications for submission to research ethics committees.  This is a 2 hour, self-paced online nanocourse that requires reading a set of resources, contribution to a discussion forum and reception of approval of your research ethics application.

Assessing Research Doctoral Programmes

This course is designed to help school leaders carry out internal reviews of their research doctoral programmes for ongoing development, and regional accreditation review teams in their accreditation visits of member schools that offer research doctoral degree programmes.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through the production of a workbook and a final essay exam.

Developing Doctoral Programmes

This is a course dealing with issues of preparation and launch, faculty development, supervision, and quality assurance of global doctoral education.   This course is particularly suited for schools that already offer theological education at doctoral level or are planning to do so and for accreditation agencies involved in doctoral level quality assurance.  This is a 10 hour, self-paced online course that will be assessed through a reflective project and a position paper.
